The formula
How to convert NOK to SEK
There is only one number you need to convert NOK to SEK: the rate the market is quoting. On 11 August 2026 that rate is 1.0004, so:
SEK = NOK × 1.0004
The inverse holds too: 0.999559 Norwegian Kroner per Swedish Krona. Divide where you multiplied before.
The converter at the top of this page does both directions and updates as you type. Every result is recalculated on the server as well, so the number you see is the number that gets stored.
Note: the rate feed has not refreshed recently, so the figure above may lag the market.
About the Norwegian Krone and the Swedish Krona
The Norwegian Krone (NOK, symbol kr) is the currency of Norway. The Swedish Krona (SEK, symbol kr) is the currency of Sweden.
The rate is set by continuous trading, which is why it rarely reads the same two days running. The figures here are mid-market reference rates from a public daily feed: the rate quoted in the news, not the rate a retail exchange hands you over the counter.
Worked NOK to SEK examples
A price tag. Something marked kr50 comes to 50.0221 SEK. Round to 50 SEK for a quick mental check while you are standing in the shop.
A monthly salary. kr3,000 a month is 3001.32 SEK — useful when you are comparing a job offer across the two markets. Bear in mind the rate moves, so a figure agreed today will not be the figure paid out in six months.
Going the other way. If you are holding kr1,000 and want to know what it buys in Norwegian Kroner, that is 999.56 NOK. The converter handles both directions — use the swap button between the two fields.
Watch the margin. At a bureau charging 3%, your kr500 would fetch roughly 485.21 SEK instead of 500.22 SEK. That gap is what the mid-market rate on this page lets you spot.
The NOK/SEK rate stands at 1.0004 on 11 August 2026. It is refreshed every morning, so this page never quotes a figure older than a day.
That works out at 100.0441 SEK for 100 NOK. Type a different figure into the converter to see it change as you go.
No — treat it as the reference point, not the offer. Exchange desks quote a spread around the mid-market rate and keep the difference. Comparing their quote with the figure above tells you what the convenience is costing you.
