How to convert EUR to GBP
There is only one number you need to convert EUR to GBP: the rate the market is quoting. On 12 September 2026 that rate is 0.858061, so:
GBP = EUR × 0.858061
Going the other way, divide instead of multiply — or multiply by 1.1654, which amounts to the same thing: one British Pound buys 1.1654 Euros.

About the Euro and the British Pound
The Euro (EUR, symbol €) is the currency of the eurozone. The British Pound (GBP, symbol £) is the currency of the United Kingdom.
Neither currency is pegged to the other, so the figure drifts from one session to the next. The feed publishes mid-market figures, which is what financial reporting cites. Actual exchange costs a margin on top.

A monthly salary. €3,000 a month is 2574.18 GBP — useful when you are comparing a job offer across the two markets. Bear in mind the rate moves, so a figure agreed today will not be the figure paid out in six months.

Watch the margin. At a bureau charging 3%, your €500 would fetch roughly 416.16 GBP instead of 429.03 GBP. That gap is what the mid-market rate on this page lets you spot.
