How to convert AUD to USD
To convert Australian Dollars to US Dollars, multiply the amount by the current exchange rate. On 11 August 2026 that rate is 0.705765, so:

About the Australian Dollar and the US Dollar
The Australian Dollar (AUD, symbol A$) is the currency of Australia. The US Dollar (USD, symbol $) is the currency of the United States.
Neither currency is pegged to the other, so the figure drifts from one session to the next. The figures here are mid-market reference rates from a public daily feed: the rate quoted in the news, not the rate a retail exchange hands you over the counter.
Worked AUD to USD examples
A price tag. Something marked A$50 comes to 35.2883 USD. Round to 35 USD for a quick mental check while you are standing in the shop.
A monthly salary. A$3,000 a month is 2117.3 USD — useful when you are comparing a job offer across the two markets. Bear in mind the rate moves, so a figure agreed today will not be the figure paid out in six months.
Going the other way. If you are holding $1,000 and want to know what it buys in Australian Dollars, that is 1416.9 AUD. The converter handles both directions — use the swap button between the two fields.
