The formula
How to convert CNY to CHF
There is only one number you need to convert CNY to CHF: the rate the market is quoting. On 11 August 2026 that rate is 0.120178, so:
CHF = CNY × 0.120178
Reverse the direction and you divide rather than multiply. Equivalently, one Swiss Franc is worth 8.321 Chinese Yuan.
The converter at the top of this page does both directions and updates as you type. Every result is recalculated on the server as well, so the number you see is the number that gets stored.
Note: the rate feed has not refreshed recently, so the figure above may lag the market.
About the Chinese Yuan and the Swiss Franc
The Chinese Yuan (CNY, symbol ¥) is the currency of China. The Swiss Franc (CHF, symbol CHF) is the currency of Switzerland.
Central bank policy on either side tends to move this pair more than anything else. Everything on this page is a mid-market rate. Retail providers quote a spread around it and keep the difference.
Worked CNY to CHF examples
A price tag. Something marked ¥50 comes to 6.0089 CHF. Round to 6 CHF for a quick mental check while you are standing in the shop.
A monthly salary. ¥3,000 a month is 360.53 CHF — useful when you are comparing a job offer across the two markets. Bear in mind the rate moves, so a figure agreed today will not be the figure paid out in six months.
Going the other way. If you are holding CHF1,000 and want to know what it buys in Chinese Yuan, that is 8320.99 CNY. The converter handles both directions — use the swap button between the two fields.
Watch the margin. At a bureau charging 3%, your ¥500 would fetch roughly 58.2863 CHF instead of 60.089 CHF. That gap is what the mid-market rate on this page lets you spot.
As of 11 August 2026, 0.120178 Swiss Francs buys what one Chinese Yuan does. That figure is pulled from a public reference feed once a day.
At today's rate, 100 Chinese Yuan come to 12.017797 CHF. The converter handles any amount, in either direction.
Almost certainly not. What you see here is the mid-market rate, the midpoint of the market. Every retail provider takes a cut on top of it. The value of knowing the mid-market figure is being able to measure that cut.
