How to convert BRL to CAD
There is only one number you need to convert BRL to CAD: the rate the market is quoting. On 12 September 2026 that rate is 0.271185, so:
CAD = BRL × 0.271185
Reverse the direction and you divide rather than multiply. Equivalently, one Canadian Dollar is worth 3.6875 Brazilian Reais.
The converter at the top of this page does both directions and updates as you type. Every result is recalculated on the server as well, so the number you see is the number that gets stored.
About the Brazilian Real and the Canadian Dollar
The Brazilian Real (BRL, symbol R$) is the currency of Brazil. The Canadian Dollar (CAD, symbol C$) is the currency of Canada.
Rates between these two shift with interest-rate decisions, trade figures and general market mood. Everything on this page is a mid-market rate. Retail providers quote a spread around it and keep the difference.
Worked BRL to CAD examples
A price tag. Something marked R$50 comes to 13.5593 CAD. Round to 14 CAD for a quick mental check while you are standing in the shop.
A monthly salary. R$3,000 a month is 813.56 CAD — useful when you are comparing a job offer across the two markets. Bear in mind the rate moves, so a figure agreed today will not be the figure paid out in six months.
Going the other way. If you are holding C$1,000 and want to know what it buys in Brazilian Reais, that is 3687.51 BRL. The converter handles both directions — use the swap button between the two fields.
Watch the margin. At a bureau charging 3%, your R$500 would fetch roughly 131.52 CAD instead of 135.59 CAD. That gap is what the mid-market rate on this page lets you spot.
The BRL/CAD rate stands at 0.271185 on 12 September 2026. It is refreshed every morning, so this page never quotes a figure older than a day.
That works out at 27.118537 CAD for 100 BRL. Type a different figure into the converter to see it change as you go.
No. This is the mid-market reference rate — the midpoint between what buyers and sellers are quoting. Banks, card issuers and bureaus add a margin, so expect somewhat less than shown. Use it as a benchmark to judge whether an offer is fair.
